Use of comma

14 July 2016 How to interpret comma in law.

28 July 2016 comma is used to separate the parts of a sentence. A word or a sentence can be interpreted according to the established rules of interpretation. There is no separate interpretation for comma.

However while reading or referring a Statute or an Act, if a sentence has two commas that means it has three parts in the sentence. The first part and the last part may form a meaning and the second part may be read separately. It depends on type of the sentence / provision.
