03 June 2014 Dear Sir,
Suppose payment made to labour in cash. And as a proof of payment what kind of voucher that employer should fill and get signed by labour.
Please provide any format of said voucher if any?

Waiting for your reply.

03 June 2014 Hi,

There is not any specific format specified in any Act for cash payment to labour. But following point should be considered:-

1.) Limit of 20,000 specified in Sec. 40A(3) in I.T. Act.

2.) Some states law required use of Revenue Ticket to be pasted on Cash Payment vouchers.

3.) Proper signature/Thumb Impression, Period of Payment, Nature of Payment, Name of Labour, Fathers name etc. these fields should be there in Cash payment voucher.

4.) If cash disbursement is in huge amount, then one line should also be added that, " Cash given to Mr. Labour in presence of ........" some 3rd person/staff signature required on that receipt. Proving genuineness of Cash Payment.

03 June 2014 Whether the such voucher should be sl. numbered and binded?
And employer should retain original copy with him
or
only the carbon copy left in voucher book.

03 June 2014 Yes it is preferable if you dont have any standard payroll processing software.
