Tds & st

This query is : Resolved

07 April 2012 Upon epayment of the below how many digits no. is generated in acknowledgement for

1)TDS (monthly) deposit
2)Service tax (monthly) deposit

Is it called BSR in both the above payments?

08 April 2012 BSR Code is provided by the banbks

08 April 2012 BSR Code is a 7-digit no. which refers to the collecting branch of the bank.

Challan no. is CIN (challan id no.) which has 5 digits.

While the BSR Code for a branch is FIXED, the CIN is a serial number given by the bank to each challan.

08 April 2012 For both TDS & Service tax deposits do we get BSR number upon epayment? or
combination of BSR+CIN
Pls. be clear sir.

08 April 2012 If in case of e-payment Ack.no. generated like xxxxxxxddmmyyyyabcde
than you can read as:

BSRCode-Txn Date-Challan No)
xxxxxxx-ddmmyyyy-abcde

08 April 2012 thanks to every expert.
