Tds return correction "deductor type"

This query is : Resolved

28 December 2012 Dear Experts,

Earlier we have filed our return with Deductor type as " Central Government" but now we want to change it to " Company" but on doing so it is not creating FVU file and giving error meesage "T-FV-2076 Invalid Deductor / Collector Type".

In fact by the time of return our TAN was wrongly made with Deductor type " Central Govt." but later we have rectified it to " Company" and now we want to correct that mistake in our old returns to eliminate demand of delay payment.

Kindly suggest the solution.

Thanks & Regards,

29 December 2012 ABHAY SINHA. You have to make correction in NSDL consolidated file downloaded either from TIN-NSDL or TRACES site. It is better in NSDL RPU for correction. In that click "UPDATE DEDUCTOR DETAILS" and select " OTHER DEDUCTOR DETAILS". Now change the Dedctor type as you want. You have to add consolidated file also in FVU validation.

21 February 2013 YES,
FIRSTLY JUST REGISTERED YOU TAN WITH THE NSDL SITE AND REQUEST FOR CONSOLIDATED FILE FOR THE REQUIREMENT PERIOD ,DOWNLOAD AND CORRECTED IT THEN REVALIDATED IT & SUBMIT IT THE THE NSDL AFTER FUV FILE.
