Dear All,
wish you Happy Xmass
I want to know that if the bill of rent of machinery includes vat then may i deduct TDS on whole amt(including vat) or only on rent portion if he crossed above Rs.180000/-
please guide.

You may deduct TDS on Rent Portion only.

Paras Sir is correct. But remember the theory is apply to only 194I only and not to any other section like 194C or 194J. Becoz 194I used the word "payment of income" and other section used the word "any sum".
