TDS on Goods Transport payment

06 January 2011 Pl can I know wheather TDS has to be deducted while making payment to Goods Transport.

Is there any Limit after which TDS needs to be made on payment made to Goods Transport even if PAN copy is provided.

If to be deducted at what rate it needs to be deducted.

06 January 2011 1. Yes TDS is to be deducted.
2. If PAN is enclosed, no need to deduct TDS.
3. 2 % base rate.
