Tds on courier and cargo

24 August 2013 The service provider provides us courier and cargo services.

He says not to dedcut the TDS on Courier and cargo and to cover such service u/s 194c(6).

Shall we not deduct the TDS on courier and cargo service treating it as service by transporter and consider it u/s 194c(6)

24 August 2013 Sec.194C(6) specifying about the goods transporter. so courier & cargo service TDS will apply

24 August 2013 194C(6) is applicable only to transporters who engaged in the transportation of goods

for courier agencies tds is applicable under section 194C

refer circular 715 dated 08.08.1995
