Tds on brokerage or commision

29 August 2012 I have a client , which are providig financial services like merchant banking , service and trading in securities & shares, they pay brokerage to the another party. My question is that TDS is applicable on above transaction in case of listed companies ? if exempt the please give me notification no. .
