15 May 2013 Dear Expert,
I am confused to calculate month in default for TDS Payment. Actually my client has deducted two TDS on folliowing date.
1.30/03/2013
2.28/01/2013
Now my client is going to make payment of the TDS,What should be the total Amount to be deposited alongwith Interest Figure?

What should be the No. of months in default in Case I & Case II.

Waiting for Prompt Response!!

Thanks In Advance!

Dhiraj Kumar

15 May 2013 Case I if tds is deducted on 30/03/2013

it was suppose to be paid on 30/04/2013

but if he pays it on any other date (say 15/05/2013) then default will be reckoned as follows

from 30/03/2013 to 15/05/2013
which is 46 days but fraction is to be taken as full

so it will be 2 months

Case II 28/01/2013

it was suppose to be paid on 07/02/2013

but if he pays it on any other date (say 15/05/2013) then default will be reckoned as follows

from 28/01/2013 to 15/05/2013
which is 107 Days but fraction is to be taken as full

so it will be 4 Months

15 May 2013 Thanks Sourav Sir for your response but while calculating default month should I need to convert them in Days?
Would it be proper:-
CaseI- 30/03/2013 to 15/05/2013-
30/03/2013 to 30/04/2013 = 1 month
01/05/2013 to 15/05/2013 = 1 month(15 days)
=Total Month in Default = 2 months

CaseII- 28/02/2013 to 15/05/2013
28/01/2013 to 28/04/2013 = 3 months
29/04/2013 to 15/05/2013 = 1 months(17days)
Total Month in default = 4 months

15 May 2013 no you dont need to convert in days

Yes you have calculated properly
