05 January 2010 Whether TDS is deductible on payment made towards Maintenance charges to any welfare society ??

05 January 2010 Yes, as per section 194c you have to deduct tds on maintenance charges if it is collected seperately.

If it is included in rent then you have to apply the rate of tds on rent under section 194H.
