16 September 2009 i needn,t now but can u tell me minimum or maximum level of TDS so that i can get basic knowledge about it

16 September 2009 TDS can't be explained like this. No maximum and minimum level. For each type of payments, different limits of exemption and different rates are prescribed. TDS mainly deductible on Salary, rent, contract, interests, professional charges, consultancy charges, job work, advertisement, lottery winnings etc. Every payment with different criterias for TDS.
