Whether TDS is applicable on software subscription / support services ?

Yes TDS is applicable u/s 194C or 194J (depending upon the nature of the transaction).

the nature of transaction is service and he charged service tax .

No no dear, I means whether AMC is also done for maintenance of the software or its just a purchase. If there is any such AMC Contract then TDS must b deducted u/s 194C on that, if not then better to deduct u/s 194J (if the transaction(s) crosses the limit as prescribed under respective sections)

If the transaction looks like renewal of software then tds not to be deducted ??

Yes applicable. U must go u/s 194J for that.
