What should One do on receipt of demand notice u/s 234E Late Filing?
The default amount will have to be deposited through challan no. 281. Download conso file from TRACES for filing correction and tag the paid challan without adding any deductee records. While filing correction, fill up the fee amount in ‘Fee’ column in challan detail.
Note: There is no need to send any communication to TDSCPC separately.
Late filing correction in RPUFor example: Due date of filling of TDS statement form 26Q for Quarter 4 is 15th May , however statement 26Q has been filed with the delay of two(02) days. Latest development--Direct Online Corrections from TRACES website . . As per the latest development in the TRACES, the following types of corrections can also be done directly from the TRACES website:
1. PAN Correction 2. Challan Correction
The existing system of preparing and filing correction return will also continue without any change.
Online corrections can be done in the following simple steps:
1. Login into the TRACES website. 2. Go to ‘Request for the correction’ under ‘Defaults’ menu and request the file to be corrected. 3. After request, go to ‘Track correction Request’ and select the file in which you want to make the corrections. 4. Make the required corrections in selected file. 5. Click on ‘Submit your Processing’ to submit your corrections.
