03 December 2010 One of my friends applied for certificate of practice and got a letter granting him COP wef 31st august 2010.

He has signed tax audits dated 30.09.2010 on his individual name. He is not having any proprietary concern nor he is a partner in any firm.

Is there any breach of rule & regulations under ICAI act... ??? please advise...

03 December 2010 No it is not.

03 December 2010 There is no breach of any rule since the person holding COP on the date of signing the agreement.

03 December 2010 There is no breach of regulation or rules.

Whether your friend in not intending to get a firm's name ?
And want to practice in his individual name.

04 December 2010 yes... he wants to practice in his individual name?? can he do so without registering for anything?? if yes then whether he has to intimate ICAI.?

04 December 2010 The notification states that if a firm registration no. is allotted then the same be stated. Since there is no firm no only membership no. would do. No need to intimate ICAI if he is holding full time COP.
