ST-1 DOCUMENTS REJECTED BY SUPERINTENDENT of CENTRAL EXCISE

This query is : Resolved

01 June 2011 Service tax superintendent has rejected the application ST-1 of my client stating that the house number in the voter’s i.d. and applied address are different. In fact, when I tried to convince him for the same, he was not ready to hear me. Now, under the RTI , can I ask him the documents filed by other assessee to get the registration during the particular period say a month or two ?

01 June 2011 First send a written complaint to the Commissioner of ST or cheif comm of central excise with copy to him.
You could also seek the information under RTI

01 June 2011 In case the address proof is not correct, you can not insist on registration.

01 June 2011 Hiregange sir and Ashok Sir,Thank you very much for sharing your views.
I am not insisting on registration. Actually in Dharwad , Same No is given to around 500 to 600 houses of same area. But actual house number will be different. The superintendent might have visited the business premises of the client to satisfy himself and thereafter he rejects I don’t object.
I know that rule is one and same to all. But same superintendent of central excise has given registration based on the such documents to others.
My question is when he has given to others such registration, why should he refuse in my client’s case?
If at all I can seek for the documents of registration of others in the custody of department under R.T.I. , I will complain regarding the same to the commissioner of central excise by showing on face the activities of officer.

02 June 2011 If this is the case, go ahead
