SSI stands for Small Scale Industries. Registering an organisation as an SSI will entitle the organisation to various benefits.
Registration of Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises for two types of Companies:-
Manufacturing Entity- The enterprises engaged in the manufacture or production of goods pertaining to any industry specified in the first schedule to the industries (Development and regulation) Act, 1951). The Manufacturing Enterprise are defined in terms of investment in Plant & Machinery.
Service Entity *************
The enterprises engaged in providing or rendering of services and are defined in terms of investment in equipment.
Type of Enterprise Manufacturing Enterprises (Investment in Plant and Machinery) Micro Does not exceed Rs. 25 Lakh
Small Exceeds Rs. 25 Lakh but does not exceed Rs. 5 Crore
Medium : Exceeds Rs. 5 Crore but does not exceed Rs. 10 Crore
Service Industry (Investment in equipment)
MICRO: Does not exceed Rs. 10 Lakh SMALL: Exceeds Rs. 10 Lakh but does not exceed Rs. 2 Crore
MEDIUM: Exceeds Rs. 2 Crore but does not exceed Rs. 5 Crore
Documents and information we need
Name, address and of applicant. Formation documents like trust deed, rules & regulation, memorandum of association etc. and registration certificate, if any. Name & Addresses of the persons managing the affairs of the enterprise. Some of the formalities required to be completed for seeking permanent registration are :-
Clearance from the municipal corporation
State pollution control board clearance
Sanction from the electricity board
Ownership/tenancy rights of the premises where unit is located
Copy of partnership deed/Memorandum of articles of association in case of a private limited company
Sale bill of product manufactured
Sale bill of each end product
Purchase bill of each raw material
Purchase bill of machinery installed
BIS/QC certificate if applicable
An affidavit giving status of the unit, machinery installed, power requirement, etc.
The registration certificate so issued by the concerned authority is seen as a proof of the unit being a small scale unit.
