no, a partner can sign only 20 companies/45 tax audits of the individual's ceiling limit, he can not sign on behalf of other partners to increase the over all limit as mentioned above.

i agree with you sir, but in a CA firm, normally some partners practice in direct taxes, some in indirect taxes, some in audit, so how can all the partners sign the audit report ? but at the same time the firm can accept audits on behalf of all the partners up to the ceiling limit.

do you want to sign 100 audits by taking 4 sleeping partner in your firm, but CA institute does not allow so, thats why they fixed the limit.
