Short term courses

01 December 2013 Dear all,
I am pursuing C.A. in Mumbai. Along with C.A., I wish to do short term courses either in finance or management or marketing. I also wish to enhance my soft skills.
Can you please tell me which are the courses i can pursue and any courses that will help to improve my soft skills?

01 December 2013 Since almost every company works in a computerised environment,so it would be very benificial if you enhance your computer skills as much as possible.You can go for SAP-FICO,oracle,Microsoft certifications(not certificate course),tally certifications.Good knowledge of income tax & tds softwares will also help.

I don't see any use of short term certificate courses in the field of finance,management,marketing.
Marketing is not the main area of CAs.It will not add much value to your profile.If you want to go for it out of your interests then better go for PGDBM( fin/mgt/mkt) from a good b-school.
As far as soft skills matter is concerned,try to participate in as much as conventions,quizes ,competitions,paper presentation at regional,state or national level.This will not only boost your confidence but also help you to develop good presentation,communication & organising skills.Infact ,if you get awards for paper presentations at state/national level that will be a big achievement.
It would better go for 1month/3months program of ICAI rather than going for simple GMCS after final exams.
