27 April 2010 When share certificates are splitted, then new certificate nos. are allotted to the certificates being issued and old are cancelled. When the splitted shares are transferred then transfer is recorded on their back.

My Query is that whether the Distinctive number of Shares remains the same on the New Shares Certificate after Splitting.

27 April 2010 no.. Ofcourse it will increase as after spilt up the no. of qty of shares will increase.

28 April 2010 My query was when 1000 Shares of Rs 10 each were Splitted into two certificates for 500 Shares of Rs 10 Each.

28 April 2010 In this case suppose the distinctive no. of certificate with 1000 was 1-1000.

Than after spit the distinctive no of each certificate will be :

certificate for first 500: 1 to 500
certificate for Second 500: 501 to 1000.

So the range of Dist. no will change accordingly
