Hi All,
My client is having a coaching institute with 17-20 teachers and having receipts of more than 40 lacs in a year. Please let me know whether registration for the same is required under service tax. If yes, then under which service head?

Yes service tax registration is compulsory on service amt provided above Rs.900000 & charging tax is compulsory once turnover crosses Rs.1000000. You can register in other taxable services.

But would not this head for registering the service be coaching services??
