25 May 2010 Dear sir,

If company A is take over by company B which is MNC. After this, raised for a new invoice in the name of B company and in invoice mention old co. service tax reg. no.?
When we raised the bill we mention that ( Formerly A Co. ) below the name of A Co.

It is legally true?

25 May 2010 Legally incorrect.

Company A and Company B are two different entity.

You can write "formerly xyz" only in the case of change of name, and not in the case at hand.

Company A has to surrender the Registration and Company B has to apply for registration.
