Dear Sir, we are receiving Service tax from Rent (Head office). We have manufacturing unit in another location. Could we Utilize the Service tax input from the Excise duty payble.

In my opinion, the manufacturing unit can take cenvat (input tax credit on services) only if it relates its manufacturing unit. In this case, the input is relating to some other location.

We have centralized registration for service tax.So We distribute the cenvat credit through " Input service distribution". The Head office service tax also distributed to manufacturing unit. It is correct or not.
