Service tax on paintings purchased

03 July 2013 Whether is it tenable on the part of the vendor to charge Service Tax on Paintings sold by them? Few vendors are charging VAT on the same? if Service tax is charged, then whether we can take Service Tax input on the same?

03 July 2013 If only supply of paint then VAT apply, if the painting works also done by vendor then service tax also apply.

This CENVAT not eligible as per my view
