Now service tax rate is flat 14%.
And if your gross receipts is less than 10 lacs then no need to collect service tax and deposit.

Rate of Service Tax is 14%. No cess. Entire 14% towards service tax.

If Rs 10 lac limit is not crossed than Service Tax not applicable for you. You need to take service tax registration after the Rs 9 Lac limit is crossed and after RS 10 Lac limit you need to collect and pay service tax and file return is ST3.
