07 June 2010 Whether the assessing officer can call for proof for cost of acquisition and cost of improvements claimed after completing the assessment under section 143(1) without issuing notice under section 143(2)?. In this case, intimation u/s 143(1) was issued and no notice u/s 142. Then how is the situation?
