suppose i am receiver of service and goods transport agency charged me bill inclusive of service tax. and i paid him entire amount inclusive of service tax. Now as per reverse charge mechanism i m liable to pay service tax (being service receiver) so now what i should do?? i should pay the service tax amount to government?? or my liability is discharged by paying the amount to transporting agency..??

As per reverse charge, if the service is covered under reverse charge then liability on the receiver hands. you can pay the service tax and recover the amount from the transport agency

1)Service provider should charge only his part of service tax
2)Service receiver to pay service tax of his part by GAR-7 challan
3)Service receiver liable for only his part and not entire amount, even if service provider does not charge his portion of service tax.
However you said that it is already paid, so take service tax paid challans and a certificate from him that total service tax from you was paid to govt. duly,,
so that we convince to dept. if there is any problem in future..
But from now onwards..please go as per reverse charge rules and discharge your service tax liability as a receiver
