Return filing of ay 2016-17 after processing of ay 2017-18

31 March 2018 Dear sir First time I filed income tax return for A. Y. 2017-18 intimation u/s 143(1) also received.Can i file My income tax return for A.Y.. 2016-17 today. Is there any penalty for the same.

31 March 2018 You can file the return for AY 2016-17 today is the last date. Penalty will be maximum of Rs.1000 if your total income is less than Rs.5.00 lacs and maximum of Rs.10000 in case you rincome is higher

31 March 2018 Penalty is usually not levied if there is a reasonable cause for belated return filing
