Hi, Please advise how can i show the rent arrears received from builder on account of delayed possesion in my income as i have not actually let out the property and have no intention on renting the premises in future.

It is a kind of liquidate damages by the builder to Owner for the delay of of possession, my view it is capital receipt and not taxable ( Ref: 1CIT vs M/s Saurashtra Cement Limited 2010-TIOL-49-SC-IT Supreme Court.
