Related to Tax Audit

This query is : Resolved

13 August 2009 I read some where that a Tax Auditor has no right to check whether the company has deducted TDS on proper rate or not. Tax Auditor is restricted to report on the matter whether they (i.e Company) has deducted a TDS or not. Whether it is true or not??

13 August 2009 No, tax auditor has to report in his report for short deduction of tds also. It clearly states that tax auditor needs to check whether the proper tds rate has been applied or not.

For high rate, he does not report but for lower deduction he has to report this in form 3CD.

13 August 2009 i agree with the above view.
