Could you please tell me the

Interest on balance in the provident fund account credited in excess of "8.5% is salary" or "9.5% is salary" ?

for the purpose of computing income under the head salaries

12 April 2009 As per law, still interest in excess of 9.5% is treated as a part of income and below 9.5% is not a part of taxable income at all..
