22 February 2014 A person's basic salary is Rs.10000 p.m.His Provident fund is deducted only on Rs.6500 and not on 10000.Is the treatment correct?

22 February 2014 Yes, it is absolutely correct as per PF rules.

22 February 2014 Now Salary Limit for the purpose of Provident Fund is Changed Up to RS 15000.00 from Rs 6500.00.
Hence PF to be calculated on Rs 10,000.00 instead of Rs 6500.00

23 February 2014 The 203rd meeting of the Central Board of Trustees’, Employees' Provident Fund (CBT, EPF) was held on 05.02.2014 under the Chairmanship of Shri Oscar Fernandes, Chairman CBT, EPF and Union Minister of Labour & Employment .In this meeting major desicion has been taken regarding EPFO.

The main desicion which has been taken that The EPF limit is to be increased to Rs 15000/- from 6500/-.Further Minimum pension of 1000/- Rs has also been approved .
