Prepayment of housing loan from capital gains

20 December 2010 Hello,

I have purchased a flat by taking home loan from lic housing, jointly with my NRI son. Now I wish to sale my another house in a year or two or after 5 years. Can I prepay the housing loan from the proceeds of sale of my old house, saving longterm capital gains.
