1. The date of entry should match with the date of transaction. 2. The nature of transaction relates to the ledger to which it was posted. 3. Check the arithmetical accuracy. 4. Check the correct posting i.e debit or credit. 5. Check out that opening balance is correclty posted. 6. Check the closing balance computed.
