Perquisite Motor Car

05 October 2010 What is amount of perquisite in case of engine capacity exceeds 1.6. Is it 1600 or 2400. Because I heard that it is 2400 though my tax book (applicable for nov) mentioned it as Rs. 1600. Kindly help me and plz forward me the the new perquiste rules applicable for NOV exam (CA final).

06 October 2010 the expenses on maintenance and running are met or reimbursed by the employer

upto 1.6 litres
Rs.1,800 (plus Rs.900, if chauffeur is also
provided to run the motor car)

exceeding 1.6 litres
Rs.2,400 (plus Rs.900, if chauffeur is also provided)
