During the Audit, they pointed out service tax liability on reverse charge categeory. Immediately, we have paid service tax alongwiht interest. Now they are asking us to pay panelty also. is it require to pay penalty with issuance of show cause notice?

Central Excise Officer shall have to serve notice to the person, chargeable with service tax, which has been not levied or paid or short-levied or short-paid or erroneously refunded. Time limit for serving a notice under this situation is ‘one year’ from the relevant date
