15 March 2010 Hallo all

My query is - A ca who is a partner in a CA firm, and he is in part time practice (mean dont do the attesting function, and will not train article under him). Can he be a full time director in a self owned company, and he also want to draw the salary from that company. Along with that he also want to remain a partner in the ca firm as a part time practitioner.

Is that possible, please answer soon.

it is urgent....

15 March 2010 I am not sure,

But a ca in part time practice can be in employment of any corporate and also can be a dirctor in any company in which he or or member of his family doesnt hold shareholding.

15 March 2010 As in the definition of Director, he is defined as a officer of the company so as per the icai a practising chartered accountant can not hold office of full time director.
