Pursuant to Section 101 of the Companies Act, 2013, a general meeting may be called by giving 21 clear days’ notice. Clear days means the days must be calculated excluding the date on which the notice is served, 48 hours (i.e. 2 days) for postal transit and the day on which the meeting is to be held. Thus, where notice is sent by post, 21 clear days will in effect means 25 days. Sunday is also counted
