Non return of service tax

My firm is partnership firm and we are into providing IIT-JEE and other engineering competitive Examination coaching to 12th science students. Our Firm is 3 years old. First year we have paid service tax but did not file return. Second Year also we have income below 10 Lac so did not paid service tax and also did not file return. Our CA tried to file return Online but as first year Return has to file Manually and from second year the made is to file online, so it is not accepting by service tax system. Now this is our third year in which we are unable to file return. Can you please guide me what we can do in this case? What will be and advice from you to file return?

02 June 2012 You need to register online and generate pawd. File st1 application online. Submit the list of documents as per circular issued. Once this done system will allow you to file. If the above is already done then download the st3 and upload as most of the time there is an error in online filing of st3.

02 June 2012 Sir, Thanks for your reply. I have already registered with the service tax site and generated password.My query is we have not filed last 2-3 years service tax return , as first year returns has to be filed manually and later on it was mandatory to file online. and now site is not allowing us to file rerun as per our CA. What we can do this case?

02 June 2012 What is the error that the system is throwing when you are trying to file the return.

check with your CA for the exact nature of problem, to address.

According to the facts there should not be an issue

02 June 2012 Till the time we find a resolution to the problem, you may send the returns in manual form to the department stating the nature of problem, through registered AD.

There are instruction not to accept manual returns so physically the same may not be accepted, but registered AD will also give you proof of submission.
