I'm very irritated by the way the officers of the Nationalized Banks in Hyderabad, are responding.
This is regarding the Tax payment (Challan ITNS 280). The Income Tax website categorizes the list of banks wherein an individual can go and pay taxes. The other day, I had been to around 6 Nationalized banks and when I asked the officials, they either replied by saying "We do not accept Taxes" (these are already listed banks in the website) or else say, "we accept only our customers who have their account in our branch"...
Someone please tell me if there is anything wrong somewhere!!!

If it is posted on the Departments website, the banks have to accept the challans. But make sure the specific branch falls in the list of IT Department. Else, do one thing, pay taxes online. Thats a better thing.

Not all branches of listed banks accept taxes.
