Mumbai University Net Examinations for CA

This query is : Resolved

12 August 2009 It is stated that one who wants to become the lecturer at Mumbai University College has to pass NET Exams. But if he is CA then from 1-7-2009 the same person is exempted. Please explain. I am CA in practice from 1-6-2008.

20 August 2009 Certainly. The Mumbai High Court has passed the order on 13-7-2009 and the judgement was signed on 20-7-2009 by Hon. Judge S. C. Dharmadhikari (Case with the bench at Mumbai High Court that CA with three years of qualification will not be appearing in NET and SET examinations. They can join as Permanent Faculties in the College in any Department. Also there are riders in the judgement which state that some industries in which CA are associated cannot become Permanent Faculties. That judgement is more in favour of CA Professors (coaching). You can obtain the judgement from ICAI post September as they will circulate it/inform it. The MOU will be signed after 9-9-2009 as VC of MU is changing.
