21 June 2013 i want know about new amendment in respect of u/s 80D,is medical expenses for FY 2012-13 allowable for exemption u/s 80D instead of mediclaim policy ?

kindly help me with notification.

21 June 2013 No, only Preventive health check expenses up to Rs.5000 allowed under 80D.
