30 June 2010 Hi,

One of my client wants to surrender the service tax registration certificate. But the problem is he has lost his original service tax registration certificate.

The officer is asking the original ST2 to proceed with the surrender formalities. Is there any alternative available for this.

Plz Help. Its urgent.

06 August 2010 He should lodge an FIIR and intimate in writing to the concerned officer, before submitting surrender application. Afterwards, he may proceed for surrender of registration in due course. He may be required to submit indemnity undertaking, etc. but its all normal.
