Long term capital gain exemption issue - please help

04 September 2016 I purchased a land from authority and my mother sold one plot, i want to know if i take the receipts of plot sold by my mother and make payment to authority for registration and lease charges will my mother be eligible to get exemption from long term capital gain or will she be required to buy property in her own name?
