This query is : Resolved

01 November 2021 Due to some unavoidable reasons I did not submit my articleship registration form on time, it was 1 year late and I uploaded all the documents asked by icai ....it's been more than 20 days since my submission ....and now on SSP portal it's showing ur form has been sent to competent authority for approval...can anyone please tell me what does this mean?

02 August 2024 When your articleship registration form status on the SSP (Student Service Portal) is shown as "Sent to Competent Authority for Approval," it means the following:

### **Meaning of "Sent to Competent Authority for Approval":**

1. **Processing Stage:**
- Your application has been received and processed by the initial review team. It is now forwarded to the relevant competent authority (typically a higher official or committee within the Institute of Chartered Accountants of India - ICAI) for final review and approval.

2. **Review:**
- The competent authority will review the submitted documents, reasons for the delay, and the compliance of your application with ICAI’s rules and regulations.

3. **Approval or Rejection:**
- The competent authority will decide whether to approve or reject your application based on their review. If there are any issues or additional requirements, they may ask for further information or clarification.

4. **Further Actions:**
- **Approval:** If approved, you will receive a confirmation, and your articleship will be officially registered.
- **Rejection:** If rejected, you will be informed of the reasons, and you may need to address the issues and reapply.

### **What to Do Next:**

1. **Wait for Confirmation:**
- Since your form is in the approval stage, wait for communication from ICAI regarding the status of your application. This could be in the form of an email, a notification on the SSP portal, or an official letter.

2. **Check Regularly:**
- Regularly check the SSP portal for updates. Any change in status or additional requirements will be updated there.

3. **Contact ICAI:**
- If there is an undue delay beyond the expected time, you can contact ICAI’s regional office or the Student Services department for a status update or clarification.

4. **Documentation:**
- Keep a record of all communications, documents submitted, and any responses received from ICAI for your reference.

5. **Be Prepared:**
- In case the competent authority requests additional information or clarification, be ready to provide it promptly to avoid further delays.

### **Conclusion:**

Your form being "Sent to Competent Authority for Approval" indicates that the process is moving forward and is under review. It is a positive sign that your application is being considered for final approval. Ensure to follow up if necessary and keep track of any further instructions from ICAI.
