you can't file return online for A.Y. 2007-08 as time has been expired. Software working on site will not allow to submit a return which is not in time period.

For filing an Income Tax Return (ITR) for an Assessment Year (AY) as old as 2007-08, especially when the filing deadline has long passed, follow these steps:
### 1. **Determine the Eligibility for Filing:**
1. **Expired Deadline:** - The statutory due date for filing the return for AY 2007-08 was March 31, 2009. Since this date has long passed, you can no longer file the return electronically on the Income Tax e-filing portal.
2. **Belated Return:** - Generally, the Income Tax Act allows for belated returns under Section 139(4), but these returns are usually accepted within a period of one year from the end of the relevant assessment year. For AY 2007-08, the belated return period would have ended by March 31, 2010.
### 2. **Rectification or Revised Return (if applicable):**
1. **Rectification:** - If there is an error in the return already filed (e.g., incorrect details), you might need to file a rectification request. However, this is usually applicable for cases where a return has already been filed.
2. **Revised Return:** - Since the due date for revised returns has also passed, you might not be able to file a revised return for AY 2007-08.
### 3. **Submitting Hard Copy:**
1. **Hard Copy Submission:** - If you are trying to submit a hard copy of the return or any other documents related to AY 2007-08, you can address this to the Assessing Officer (AO) of the jurisdiction. - **AO Jurisdiction:** Even if the designated AO is in Satara, you can submit documents at the IT department office in Pune if it’s more convenient or if there are specific instructions from the department.
2. **Submission Steps:** - **Prepare the Return:** Complete the hard copy of the return with accurate details. - **Submit to the IT Department:** Visit the local Income Tax office in Pune. Ensure that you receive a receipt or acknowledgment of the submission for your records.
### 4. **Communication with the IT Department:**
1. **Contact the IT Department:** - **Query Handling:** Contact the local IT office or the jurisdictional AO to explain your situation. They can provide guidance on whether they will accept a late submission and the process involved. - **Check Status:** Inquire if there are any additional steps you need to follow or any penalties that might be applicable.
2. **Official Communication:** - **Send a Formal Letter:** If submitting documents physically, attach a formal letter explaining the reason for the late submission and request their consideration.
### 5. **Consider the Following:**
1. **Penalties and Interest:** - Be aware that penalties and interest might be applicable due to late filing. The IT department will calculate these based on their records and the applicable laws.
2. **Consult a Tax Professional:** - For guidance and to ensure that you meet all requirements, consider consulting a tax professional or chartered accountant. They can provide personalized advice and assist with communication with the IT department.
### Summary
- **Filing Limitations:** Due to the expired deadlines, e-filing for AY 2007-08 is not possible. - **Hard Copy Submission:** You can submit a hard copy of the return or related documents to the local IT office or as directed by the jurisdictional AO. - **Contact IT Department:** Get in touch with the IT department to understand if they will accept the submission and any potential penalties.
For accurate guidance, especially given the age of the return, professional advice is recommended.
