I have never filed IT returns owing to many things. In 2009-2010 I worked for a pvt company who deducted Rs 3.0 lakh as TDS from my salary and deposited against my Pan card i now received notice for filing of return under section 139(4). what will happen to me. i have been working on various asssignments as available and have all my payments received by legal transfers to bank account always.

You should file a income tax return against the notice and reply the notice along with the copy of filed return.
The AO can charge you the penalty of Rs. 5000/- for delay in filling return.
