this is written on icai website, but I could not clearly understand the six months provision. Students who are pursuing the Final year Graduation Course can also register for the Intermediate (IPC) Course on provisional basis and such students registration would be regularised and they can commence practical training only on submission of satisfactory proof of having passed the Graduation examination with the specified percentage of marks within six months from the date of appearance in the final year graduation examination. During the provisional registration period, a student can undergo and complete Information Technology Training (ITT) and Orientation Course. If such student fails to produce the proof within the aforesaid period, his provisional registration shall stand cancelled

In the CA Direct Entry Scheme, here’s how the process and eligibility work:
### **1. Articleship and Provisional Registration**
- **Provisional Registration for Articleship:** - You can commence your articleship on a provisional basis if you are in your final year of graduation. However, the articleship period is provisional until you submit the final mark sheet and meet the eligibility criteria.
### **2. Submitting Final Mark Sheet**
- **Submission Timeline:** - According to ICAI’s guidelines, you must submit your final mark sheet within six months from the date of your final year graduation examination. During this time, you can start your articleship, but it will only be counted towards the mandatory period after the completion of your graduation and submission of the mark sheet.
### **3. Counting of Articleship Period**
- **Count Towards Eligibility:** - If you start your articleship before submitting the final mark sheet, the time spent will be counted towards the nine months of practical training required for eligibility to appear for the IPCC exams, **provided** you submit the final mark sheet within the stipulated six-month period.
### **4. Six-Month Provision**
- **Explanation:** - The six-month provision means that while you can start your articleship on a provisional basis, you must provide proof of passing your graduation within six months of appearing for the final exams. This ensures that your provisional registration is converted into regular registration and the articleship period is recognized.
### **5. Key Points to Remember**
- **Provisional Registration:** You can start articleship and complete ITT and Orientation Course during this period. - **Final Mark Sheet Submission:** Must be submitted within six months of your final graduation examination. - **Eligibility for IPCC:** To count the articleship period towards the nine-month requirement for IPCC, you need to submit the final mark sheet within the stipulated time.
### **Steps to Follow**
1. **Start Articleship:** Begin articleship under provisional registration if you are a final-year student. 2. **Complete ITT and Orientation Course:** You can complete these courses during your provisional registration period. 3. **Submit Mark Sheet:** Ensure you submit your final mark sheet within six months of your graduation exams. 4. **Confirm Registration:** Your provisional registration will be regularized upon submission of the final mark sheet.
**Example:**
- **Graduation Exams:** May 2023 - **Provisional Registration for Articleship:** June 2023 - **Final Mark Sheet Submission Deadline:** November 2023 (six months from May 2023)
If you start your articleship in June 2023 and submit your final mark sheet by November 2023, the period from June to November will count towards the nine-month requirement for the IPCC exam.
### **Conclusion**
Yes, you can start your articleship before submitting your final mark sheet under the Direct Entry Scheme, and the time spent will be counted towards the practical training requirement, provided you submit your final mark sheet within six months from the date of your final graduation examination. Ensure to adhere to the timelines to avoid any issues with your registration.
