Isca

20 August 2015 Hi All,

I gave ISCA exam twice and my marks were 24 in first attempt and 29 in second.

For my second attempt: I took classes in order to gain better understanding. Strictly followed Study Mat. Understood and learnt the content by heart. I gave 15 mock tests and fared 60 plus in all those mocks.

Revised Isca 5 times (Study Mat), also referred a reference book (which was nothing but a copy-pasted version of mat). Did PM thrice. Also, I have a decent command over language.

While answering the ques I used diagrams wherever necessary and took 3 extra sheets as well.

Result = 29 marks.

I called for copies and received them today. I was shocked that the examiner didn't even bother to match the headings nor did he read the content.

So much so that if my points were not written in sequence as per those in suggested answers he has not given me marks.

My marking is either full or nil. Full in fortunate cases wherein my points' numbering matched with that of suggested answer. I gave it to the coaching institute from which i did my mock tests and they say this paper easily deserves a 68 (that is when ICAI has not provided me with 4 pages of my answer book - one whole answer).

I feel extremely disgusted and do not know how to proceed. It is impossible for me to literally mug points as per numbering (it is insane).

If anyone got any clue how do I "improve", kindly share with me. I have done everything possible on my end and this failure tag might hamper my career initiation.

Please guide and help.

PS - Can't share the suggested answers here as it might get me in contravention of ICAI's regulation.
