One of our client is getting bill for cartage when they orders sand and same is sold to builders for their construction site.
My client is also issuing consignment note for the sales.
So my query is that Whether my client is liable for Service Tax if Turnover crosses Rs.10 Lac?
Kindly answer as soon as possible.

As my client is issuing note for only Transportation & not for sand.
So doesn't he liable to Service Tax?
Doesn't he considered as a GTA?
Because according to me as he is issuing only bill for Transportation, he is liable to tax.

There is formula which you should remember that if VAT is charged no Service tax and reverse is the position provided the contract is not a composite contract.
