Is ESI deduction from the salary is exempted from tax

21 July 2008 Plz. let me know that the amount of ESI which is deducted from the salary of employee is exempted from tax or not.

21 July 2008 Yes, the same is deductible u/s 80C of the Income Tax Act

21 July 2008 ESI is Applicable up to 10000/= per month salary. it meens salary X 12 month is =xxxx income is already exepmt from income tax.
